Bird of Paradise.

Down feather is used in products such as coats, bedding and cushions. There is no humane way to collect feathers. The feathers are either collected after slaughter or through live plucking. Because feathers grow back like fur, live plucking can help farmers meet their large demands. Although live plucking is not believed to be common practice anymore, it is still being done. Even feathers from suppliers and companies that have been Responsible Down Standard certified, have admitted to continuing to live pluck their birds.

This shoot demonstrates how feathers could be obtained.
